A strong field has assembled at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club to contest the Omega European Masters this weekend. Who will rise to the challenge and lift the trophy amidst the backdrop of the Swiss Alps come Sunday?

Thriston Lawrence is back to defend his title after a two-stroke victory over Rasmus Hojgaard, Sami Valimaki, and Matt Wallace in 2025.

Former Major winners who will tee off on Thursday include Sergio Garcia, Patrick Reed, and Danny Willett.

These are our four selections who could win the title this weekend.

Ryan Gerard

Ryan Gerard has been performing well since mid-July, placing T9 at the Open Championship, T8 at the Rocket Classic, MC at the Wyndham Championship, T24 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T16 at the BMW Championship, and 3rd at the Tour Championship last weekend.

Other notable results achieved by Gerard on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour this season include 2nd at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, 2nd at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T2 at the American Express, a T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open, a T23 at the Cognizant Classic, a T10 at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and 2nd at the Memorial Tournament.

The American golfer will make his debut at the 2026 Omega European Masters this weekend.

Gerard will start with confidence that he can win in Switzerland after his recent displays on the PGA Tour.

Rasmus Hojgaard

Rasmus Hojgaard has come good on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour lately, placing 4th at the Rocket Classic, T49 at the Wyndham Championship, and T2 at the recent Danish Golf Championship.

Additional highlights from Rasmus Hojgaard's season include a T24 at the WM Phoenix Open, a T9 at the Cognizant Classic, and a T24 at the Myrtle Beach Classic.

The five-time DP World Tour winner has compiled an excellent record at the Omega European Masters, with results of a victory in 2021 on debut, MC in 2022, MC in 2023, T17 in 2024, and T2 in 2025.

Rasmus Hojgaard loves playing at this event and can emerge victorious in Switzerland come Sunday.

Marco Penge

Marco Penge has been in solid form on the DP World Tour and PGA Tour during the past two months, placing T9 at the BMW International Open, MC at the Genesis Scottish Open, T18 at the Open Championship, T45 at the Rocket Classic, T38 at the Wyndham Championship, and T6 at the British Masters last weekend.

Other prominent performances achieved by Penge this season include a T25 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship, a T16 at the Genesis Invitational, T4 at the Valspar Championship, and T21 at the Valero Texas Open.

The three-time DP World Tour winner missed the cut on debut at the 2024 Omega European Masters before finishing T8 in 2025.

Penge can make the frame at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club after his recent performance.

Thomas Detry

Thomas Detry has been there and thereabouts in his last five starts, placing T5 in Andalucia, MC at the Italian Open, T40 at the Open Championship, T31 in the United Kingdom, T17 in New York, and T10 in Indianapolis.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Detry on the DP World Tour and LIV Golf League this season include a T6 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, a T14 at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, 7th in Riyadh, 2nd in Hong Kong, a T15 in Singapore, a T3 in South Africa, a T5 in Mexico City, and a T6 in Virginia.

The Belgian has made four appearances at the Omega European Masters, with results of MC in 2017, MC in 2018, T20 in 2019, and T27 in 2021.

Detry should enter calculations at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club as he has been in solid form this year.
