Barcelona are tipped to win against Aston Villa in Champions League Round 4, with a recommendation for over 4.5 match goals. Aston Villa arrive with a perfect record after three games, but face a significantly tougher challenge at Camp Nou. Barcelona, on six points from three matches, aim to respond positively following a 4-2 defeat to PSG. Villa have shown attacking threat, including a 3-1 win over Viking, but this fixture is expected to be open and high-scoring, favouring Barcelona's attacking strengths.

Champions League Predictions – Round 4


Barcelona vs Aston Villa


One of the standout fixtures of Round 4 pits Barcelona’s adventurous attack against an Aston Villa side with a perfect Champions League record after three games this season. The visitors have earned nine points after a fantastic start to their campaign but a trip to the Camp Nou poses a significantly more challenging test.

Barcelona have six points from their three league-phase matches and will be looking for a positive response after going down 4-2 to PSG in their last match in the Champions League. Villa have collected maximum points and have shown they can punish opponents when space opens up, including their 3-1 win over Viking.

Manchester United vs Roma


Manchester United’s difficult run of form has turned European home fixtures into high pressure matches at Old Trafford. Roma will believe they can capitalise on a fragile United defence, particularly if the hosts are forced into further selection changes.

United have gone nine matches without a win in all competitions and were beaten heavily by Como in Europe. Roma responded to their own uneven campaign with a 4-0 defeat of Slovan Bratislava in the last Champions League round. United will also be weakened with the possible absences of Patrick Dorgu, Luke Shaw, Benjamin Sesko, Marcus Rashford and Amad, although Roma will also be weakened through injuries.

Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich


Two major contenders collide in Madrid with Atletico seeking to convert a home advantage into an important European result. Bayern start as the shorter-priced side despite Atletico’s ability to make these occasions uncomfortable for top-quality sides.

Atletico have four points after their first three league-phase games against Bayern's five points. The German side drew 2-2 with Arsenal in their last night in Europe. That result underlined their attacking capability while highlighting some clear defensive frailties against quality opposition.

Villarreal vs Paris Saint-Germain


Defending champions PSG have made a powerful start to the league phase of this season's Champions League and travel to Villarreal with just three wins from their first three matches. Their offensive depth remains formidable even when key personnel are unavailable.

PSG are one of the early leaders on nine points and are enjoying a storming run of form having won nine successive games in all competitions. Villarreal have collected just three points in Europe this season after high-scoring defeats to Liverpool and Dortmund and they will need to roll out their best home performance to put the brakes on their rampant visitors.

Verdict

Barcelona are backed to win a goal-fest with Villa and Roma to pile more misery on Man United. I'm also backing over three goals in the clashes between Atletico and Bayern Munich and Villarreal and Paris Saint-Germain.
