Mamelodi Sundowns vs Golden Arrows Predictions - Brazilians to Reach Carling Knockout Semis

Mamelodi Sundowns are tipped to win to nil against Golden Arrows and to score over 2.5 team goals in their upcoming PSL fixture. Sundowns have won 9 of their last 11 home matches and have a dominant head-to-head record, including a 31-11 advantage over Arrows in 54 meetings. Golden Arrows are winless in six league matches and have lost 6 of their last 7 away games against Sundowns, conceding 26 goals in their last 8 visits. Both teams have key absentees, but Sundowns’ attacking form and home dominance support the selection.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Golden Arrows Predictions

Sundowns are scoring plenty of goals and tend to dominate this fixture. I see them winning to zero as well as scoring Over 2.5 team goals.

Key Stats – Sundowns Backed for Victory

  • Mamelodi Sundowns have won 9 of their last 11 home matches.
  • Mamelodi Sundowns have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 domestic matches.
  • Golden Arrows have lost 4 of their last 6 PSL matches.
  • Golden Arrows have lost 6 of their last 7 away matches vs Mamelodi Sundowns.
  • Golden Arrows have conceded 26 goals in their last 8 away matches vs Mamelodi Sundowns.

Head to Head – Downs Hold Advantage

Sundowns hold a 31-11 advantage over Arrows across 54 previous meetings with 12 draws.

Mamelodi Sundowns won 2-1 at Golden Arrows when the clubs last met in September 2026.

Sundowns Form – Nine Wins in 12 Matches

Sundowns have won 10 of their last 13 matches. They can win a third trophy on Sunday, but have crashed out of the CAF Champions League in the qualifying rounds

Sundowns have two trophies this season already, but also saw their defence of the CAF Champions League crown end early. Their last 13 matches have seen nine wins.

A 4-1 league win over Richards Bay was followed by a 0-0 draw in Angol against Wiliete. A 1-1 home draw in the second leg saw the Brazilians eliminated from continental competition on away goals.

The Brazilians rotated heavily in midweek in a 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants in the Carling Knockout Cup. On Saturday, they beat Richards Bay 4-1 in a totally dominant display.

Arrows’ Poor Form - Winless in Six PSL matches

Golden Arrows are winless in six league matches with four of those ending in defeats. They sit 10th in the league table thanks to five draws in nine rounds of action.

A tight 0-0 home draw vs Kaizer Chiefs saw just one shot on target allowed. They lost 1-0 at home to Milford to signal a coaching change as Orlando Pirates assistant Mandla Ncikazi took over.

A 4-0 home win over Chippa United in the Carling Knockout Cup was a boost to confidence. However, they lost 1-0 at AmaZulu on Saturday despite put up 0.70 xG more than their opponents.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Mamelodi Sundowns (4-2-3-1): Goss; Matuludi, Khoza, Ndamane, Basadien; Aubaas, Allende; Ndlovu, Santos, Matthews; Rayners.

Sundowns are without three key defenders for this match. Grant Kekana, Keanu Cupido and Khuliso Mudau will play no part.

Key midfielder Teboho Mokoena is doubtful with a knee injury. Goalkeeper Ronwen Williams will need a late fitness test to determine his involvement.

Golden Arrows (4-3-3): Mbanjwa; Shezi, Jiyane, Agnikoi, Maluleke; Dlamini, Zwane, Maxwele; Van Neel, Dion, Gasa.

Arrows are without Edward Maova in goal due to injury. Dumisani Msibi or Thakasani Mbanjwa will deputise.

Coach Mandla Ncikazi may make some changes in attack. Speedy young wingers Renaldo Van Neel and Nhlanhla Gasa are pushing to start.

Verdict

Sundowns are backed to win with a clean sheet. I see Downs scoring Over 2.5 team goals.
