The Tour Championship Predictions - Top contenders for victory in Georgia

The PGA Tour and the top 30 players from the FedEx Cup standings return to the East Lake Golf Club to contest the season-ending Tour Championship this weekend. Who will pocket the winner's cheque come Sunday?

Tommy Fleetwood is back to defend his title after a three-stroke victory over Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay in 2025. 

Past and present Major winners who will tee off on Thursday include Ryan Fox, Wyndham Clark, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Justin Rose, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Xander Schauffele, Adam Scott, and Gary Woodland. 

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Sam Burns


Sam Burns has been in fine form on the PGA Tour lately, placing T4 at the Memorial Tournament, T20 at the RBC Canadian Open, 2nd at the U.S. Open, T12 at the Travelers Championship, 3rd at the Open Championship, T3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and T28 at the BMW Championship last weekend. 

Other prominent performances achieved by Burns this season include a T6 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T13 at the Players Championship, a T21 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, a T7 at the Masters, and a T16 at the RBC Heritage.  

The five-time PGA Tour winner has made five appearances at the Tour Championship, finishing T18 in 2021, 24th in 2022, T9 in 2023, T12 in 2024, and T7 in 2025.   

Burns has been knocking hard lately and can go all the way in Atlanta this weekend. 

Tommy Fleetwood


Tommy Fleetwood has been in solid form on the PGA Tour lately, placing T4 at the Memorial Tournament, T11 at the RBC Canadian Open, T11 at the U.S. Open, T14 at the Travelers Championship, T13 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T4 at the Open Championship, and T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship before finishing T47 at the BMW Championship last weekend.

Other notable results achieved by Fleetwood this year include a T4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T7 at the Genesis Invitational, a T8 at the Players Championship, a T10 at the Valero Texas Open, and a T5 at the Truist Championship.  

The world's fifth-ranked golfer has featured five times at the Tour Championship, finishing T11 in 2018, T16 in 2019, T6 in 2023, and 20th in 2024 before winning the tournament in 2025.  

Fleetwood can convert his recent form into victory at the East Lake Golf Club come Sunday.   

Hideki Matsuyama 


Hideki Matsuyama has been in excellent touch on the PGA Tour lately, placing T14 at the Travelers Championship, T14 at the Open Championship, T3 at the 3M Open, T5 at the Rocket Classic, T7 at the Wyndham Championship, T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and T28 at the BMW Championship last weekend.

Additional highlights from Matsuyama's season include a T13 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open, 2nd at the WM Phoenix Open, a T8 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T21 at the Valero Texas Open, a T12 at the Masters, and a T13 at the Charles Schwab Challenge. 

The ten-time PGA Tour winner has a long history at the Tour Championship, finishing 5th in 2016, T26 in 2017, T4 in 2018, T9 in 2019, T15 in 2020, T26 in 2021, T11 in 2022, T9 in 2024, and 29th in 2025.

Matsuyama has done nothing wrong lately and can win the title in Georgia this weekend. 

Russell Henley 


Russell Henley has been in decent nick on the PGA Tour in his last five starts, placing T12 at the Travelers Championship, T9 at the Open Championship, T20 at the Rocket Classic, T30 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and T12 at the BMW Championship. 

Other noteworthy results achieved by Henley this season include a T19 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T8 at the American Express, a T19 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T6 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a T13 at the Players Championship, a T3 at the Masters, a victory at the Charles Schwab Challenge, and a T22 at the Memorial Tournament. 

The world's sixth-ranked player has compiled a solid record at the Tour Championship, finishing 12th in 2014, T3 in 2017, T14 in 2023, T4 in 2024, and T2 in 2025. 

Henley has been posting solid results lately and can emerge victorious at the East Lake Golf Club this weekend.

Verdict

Burns has been in excellent form lately and will fancy his chances of winning the title on the greens of the East Lake Golf Club this weekend.

Fleetwood has performed well throughout 2026 and can win back-to-back Tour Championship titles come Sunday.
 
Matsuyama has come good during recent months and can secure a victory in Georgia come Sunday.

Henley has been in solid form and can make the frame in Atlanta this weekend.
