Race 1 – 12:00 – Pinetti (5)

Jockey: RA Venniker | Trainer: Dennis Bosch

Speedy sort with solid 5f profile and Rachel Venniker’s 1.5kg claim; low gate 5 helps control the early tempo. Early books have him sitting shortest in the market on the forecast. Watch Calvin Habib riding Senor Resfrio as the late danger.

Race 4 – 13:42 – Next Of Kin (5)

Jockey: Sean Veale | Trainer: Mike & Matthew de Kock

Lightly raced and now gelded; Next of Kin brings close-up recent form and steps to a mile from a handy draw 5. The stable/jockey combo is strong and he’s been put up as a short-priced pick locally; main danger is the consistent Takeyourbestshot, ridden by Marco van Rensburg (trainer MJ Odendaal).

Race 5 – 14:20 – El Rey Viene (3)

Jockey: Sean Veale | Trainer: Duncan Howells

Ultra-consistent miler (form: 4-7-1-2-3) drawn 3 with Sean Veale keeps him handy on the Poly. Strong recent figures and a neat map behind likely pace; looks a very “safe each-way/Win” type. Main dangers Run To Rio (Tristan Godden) and Pembury (Craig Zackey) from inside/outside gates.

Race 8 – 16:10 – Mojo Man (3)

Jockey: Callan Muray | Trainer: Mike & Matthew de Kock

Back to 6f on the Poly from gate 3 and a good recent string for the De Kock yard; rates a leading fancy. Princess Hannah is the classy filly resuming well and is the one to beat if she bounces second-up. Include Captain’s Christy in exotics from pole.

Race 9 – 16:45 – Yannakis

Jockey: S Bungane | Trainer: GI Rich

Last-start winner who looks to have turned a corner; apprentice claim offsets top weight and he’s drawn to stalk the speed. Stablemate Catavar is consistent and maps well; Ruby Claire holds each-way claims. Good bet if the track is playing fair to on-pace runners.
