Lincoln followed the Burton win with a 1-1 draw with Mansfield and a 3-0 triumph over Notts County. The Imps then drew 2-2 at home against Wigan and beat Burton 1-0 away in League One.

Michael Skubala’s side secured back-to-back league wins after defeating Luton 3-1 at home on Saturday. Ben House scored on 12 minutes and Lincoln conceded before Justin Obikwu and House netted late on.

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea join the EFL Cup in the third round this season as a higher-seeded team.

The Blues started the 2025/26 campaign in solid form and were unbeaten in their opening four matches. Draws with Crystal Palace 0-0 and Brentford 2-2 came either side of a 5-0 win at West Ham and a 2-0 victory against Fulham.

Chelsea’s strong start to the new season ended with consecutive defeats, starting with a 3-1 loss at Bayern Munich.

The London side were beaten 2-1 at Man United in the Premier League last time out. Chelsea conceded two first-half goals and Trevoh Chalobah scored a late consolation.
