Kaizer Chiefs vs Siwelele Predictions - Extra Time Needed after Score Draw in Carling Knockout

Kaizer Chiefs and Siwelele meet in a cup quarter final, with a score draw in 90 minutes tipped as the main prediction. Chiefs have drawn five of their last seven PSL matches and two of their last four home domestic games. Siwelele are winless in 15 away matches, drawing seven, and have conceded 21 goals in their last eight away fixtures. Both teams have key absentees, but Siwelele welcome back attacking players. Previous meetings have been close, with one win each and a draw in three encounters.

Kaizer Chiefs vs Siwelele Predictions

Siwelele are poor on the road, but I see them taking this game to extra time. I’m tipping a score draw in 90 minutes in this cup quarter final.

Key Stats – Score Draw in 90 Minutes

  • Kaizer Chiefs have drawn 5 of their last 7 PSL matches.
  • Kaizer Chiefs have drawn 2 of their last 4 home domestic matches.
  • Siwelele are winless in 15 away matches (7 draws).
  • Siwelele have conceded 21 goals in their last 8 away matches.

Head to Head – One Win Each

These clubs have met on three previous occasions with one win apiece and one draw.

Chiefs won 3-2 at home in the league when the clubs met in September 2026.

Chiefs Form – Two Wins in Seven Matches

Kaizer Chiefs have won two of their last three matches. Before that, it was five draws in six league matches.

A 1-1 home draw vs Stellenbosch was followed by a 1-0 loss away to Red Arrows in a CAF Confederations Cup qualifier. Chiefs won 1-0 in the second leg, but were knocked out on penalties.

A fine 3-0 home win followed vs TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup as striker Wandile Duba scored a hattrick. Last weekend, they lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates having dominated the first half.

One Win in 11 Matches – Siwelele Struggling in the League

Siwelele’s last 11 matches have yielded just one victory. They progressed in the last round of the Carling Knockout Cup on penalties.

They drew 1-1 vs Chippa United and lost 3-2 at Kaizer Chiefs. A 3-0 loss at Mamelodi Sundowns was followed by  a1-1 home draw vs Golden Arrows and a much-needed 1-0 home win vs Polokwane City.

Siwelele won on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the Carling Knockout at Polokwane City. Their last match saw a 3-2 defeat away at Marumo Gallants, an opponent who were on a 19-match winless run.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Kaizer Chiefs (4-2-3-1): Petersen; Frosler, Moloisane, Dortley, Mako; Mthethwa, Maboe; Vilakazi, Shabalala, Mmodi; Duba.

Goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner is ruled out and defender Inacio Miguel is suspended. Rushwin Dortley is expected to start in central defence.

Thabiso Monyane is doubtful at right back, and midfielders Adolf Mtasingwa and Siphesihle Ndlovu are out. None of Langelihle Phili, Khanyisa Mayo or new signing Elias Mokwana will play any part in attack.

Siwelele (4-4-2): February; Mfolozi, Sesane, Ndebele, Lapalule; Jeza, Kobedi, Mokhuoane, Potsane; Saile, Pule.

Siwelele are still without left back Aphiwe Baliti due to suspension. Key midfielder Grant Margeman remains out injured.

Vincent Pule is fit again in attack and is set for a recall. Tebogo Potsane should return, and Zakhele Lepasa is fit again up front after a year out injured.

Verdict

I'm backing a draw with both teams on target.
