Portugal are tipped to cover the handicap in their World Rugby Nations Cup match against Chile. Portugal have won nine of their last ten matches and all four previous meetings with Chile, highlighting their strong recent form and dominance in this fixture. Chile have shown some promise in the competition but have lost four of their last seven matches and have yet to defeat Portugal. Portugal vs Chile Predictions

Portugal won the recent Rugby Europe Championship earlier this year and have made a solid start to their World Rugby Nations Cup campaign. Chile have also had success during the opening stages of the competition but have yet to beat Portugal.

  • Portugal have won 9 of their last 10 matches.
  • Portugal have won 4 consecutive games against Chile.
  • Chile have lost 4 of their last 7 fixtures.

Head to Head

Portugal have the edge over Chile, with four victories to none.

Portugal Form

Portugal lost their opening World Rugby Nations Cup fixture to the USA 30-29 before bouncing back with a 38-14 victory over Canada and a 32-28 win over Tonga.

Os Lobos are in second place in the European-African-Asian Pool with 12 points after three rounds.

Earlier this year, the Wolves won the 2026 Rugby Europe Championship, beating Belgium 47-17, Germany 68-2, and Romania 44-7 in the group stages. They then defeated Spain 26-7 in the semi-finals and edged Georgia 19-17 in the final.

Portugal will fancy their chances of seeing off the challenge of Chile, as they have been in fine form in recent outings, winning nine of their last ten fixtures.

Chile Form

Chile started their 2026 World Rugby Nations Cup campaign well, defeating Romania 48-31 and Hong Kong China 38-17 before losing 49-22 to Georgia.

Los Cóndores are in second place in the Americas-Pacific Pool with ten points from three matches.

Before that, the South American team lost 34-19 to Italy in November last year.

Chile have been in solid form lately, but will have to be on top of their game to get the result, as they have yet to beat Portugal in a competitive match, and their opponents have often won their matches this year.
