Kaizer Chiefs have announced several squad updates ahead of their Carling Knockout quarter-final against Siwelele FC. New signing Elias Mokwana will be integrated gradually due to his lack of pre-season fitness, while defender Inacio Miguel is suspended following a red card in the Soweto Derby. Rushwin Dortley is available to replace Miguel at centre back. Khanyisa Mayo is making progress in his recovery but is not yet ready for competitive action, and midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo continues his rehabilitation with encouragement from coach Fernando Da Cruz.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has provided several important updates ahead of Amakhosi's Carling Knockout quarter-final clash against Siwelele FC.

The French tactician has discussed new signing Elias Mokwana, the latest fixture changes, Inacio Miguel's suspension and the situations surrounding Khanyisa Mayo and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.

Da Cruz Explains Mokwana's Arrival At Chiefs

Da Cruz has welcomed the arrival of Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana but insists the club will not rush him into action following his move to Naturena. The 27-year-old joined Chiefs as a free agent after spells in North Africa and Saudi Arabia.

Having gone without a full pre-season, his fitness is lacking. "He is a good and experienced player. He was with Bafana Bafana before and has a lot of quality," Da Cruz said, explaining that the upcoming FIFA break will provide an opportunity to integrate him into the squad gradually.

Chiefs Receive Fixture Update As Miguel Is Suspended

Amakhosi's Carling Knockout quarter-final against Siwelele FC has been rescheduled, with kick-off moved from 15:00 SAST to 18:00 SAST on Sunday, 8 November, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. The fixture adjustment was made to accommodate the CAF Super Cup encounter involving Mamelodi Sundowns and USM Alger at the same time.

Meanwhile, the PSL confirmed that Chiefs will be without defender Inacio Miguel following his red card in the Soweto Derby defeat against Orlando Pirates. The Angolan international's suspension is a blow for Amakhosi, but Rushwin Dortley is fit to replace him at centre back.

Mayo Fitness Update

Coach Fernando Da Cruz has confirmed that Khanyisa Mayo is still not physically ready to return to competitive action despite making progress in his recovery from injury.

The Frenchman said: "He worked hard for to come back and he's on the good way," but the striker "is not ready physically for the moment."

Regarding sidelined midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Da Cruz urged the midfielder to remain motivated and continue working hard, stressing that "we need everyone during the season."
