Blue Bulls vs Free State Cheetahs Predictions - Visitors to come away with victory in Pretoria
The Bulls and Cheetahs are both unbeaten after two rounds of the Currie Cup, but the Cheetahs have shown more dominance. As defending champions, the Cheetahs have won their last three encounters against the Bulls, including the 2023 Currie Cup semi-final, and seem poised to secure another victory. The Bulls have been solid but lack the same momentum, especially with injuries and international call-ups impacting their squad. The Cheetahs, on the other hand, have been strong across all aspects and will look to cover a -9 handicap in this latest matchup.

Bulls vs Cheetahs Preview
While both sides are unbeaten over two rounds, it is the Cheetahs that have looked more dominant. The defending champions also beat the Bulls three times in 2023, so I am backing them to make it four wins in a row.

Head to Head
Last season the Cheetahs beat the Bulls in all three encounters, including the 2023 Currie Cup semi-final.
Bulls Form
The Bulls, like the visitors, have won both of their opening two fixtures this season. They are one of only three teams to be unbeaten after two rounds.
A good first half against Western Province in round one was enough to secure a 30-25 victory in Cape Town. This after Province made a good comeback in the second stanza.
Last week was far more comfortable for the Bulls as they beat the Griffons 52-10 to avenge their shock defeat to the Northern Free Staters in 2023.
Bulls Injuries & Team News
The Bulls have lost a couple players to injury and to international call ups. They still have a pretty good squad with a number of players with URC experience.
Cheetahs Form
The defending Currie Cup champions have begun the season strongly with two bonus point wins in their opening two fixtures. They currently top the table with 10 points.
On the opening weekend, the Cheetahs smashed their Free State counterparts, the Griffons 82-20 at home before cruising to a 37-17 win at home over Western Province last Saturday.
The team has been functioning well over the opening two rounds with every aspect of their play looking strong. This, however, will be their biggest test thus far and their forwards will not enjoy set piece dominance quite as much on Friday.
Cheetahs Injuries & Team News
There may well be a few forced changes for the Cheetahs on Friday. Other than that, they are likely to remain unchanged.
Verdict
I am backing the Cheetahs to end the Bulls unbeaten run by covering the -9 handicap.
