Clermont find themselves in mid-table in the Top 14 having won six of their opening 12 fixtures. At home they have proven themselves to be tough contenders domestically but have struggled on the road.

Over their last five matches, Clermont Auvergne have won just two matches. A home 31-16 success against Toulon was followed by narrow 26-24 defeat at Perpignan.

Clermont then comfortably beat Biarritz 39-11 at home but came unstuck on home soil in Europe last weekend. In what was a see-saw battle, Ulster came away with a 29-23 win.
