Ireland opened their Women's Rugby World Cup campaign with a 42-14 win against Japan last weekend.

Ireland scored four converted tries in the first half and added two more converted tries in the second half to secure all the points.

Before that, Ireland lost 27–15 to France, thrashed Italy 54–12, lost 49–5 to England, and beat Wales 40–14 before losing 26–19 to Scotland during the 2025 Women's Six Nations Championship. Additionally, Ireland lost 47–26 to Canada in a recent international friendly.

Ireland will fancy their chances of winning back-to-back Pool C matches when they take on a Spanish side that conceded eight tries last weekend.
