Wellington added three tries, two conversions, and a penalty in the second half but came up short, losing 46-41 to Otago. 

Before that result, Wellington lost 33-15 to Canterbury before beating Waikato 35-24.

Wellington are 8th in the National Provincial Championship standings with seven points from three matches. 

Wellington have had an inconsistent start to their NPC season, but will fancy their chances against Manawatu after winning their last six meetings consecutively.

Hugo Plummer, Esi Komaisavai, Tom Maiava, and Akira Ieremia each scored a try against Otago.

Jackson Garden-Bacho kicked over four conversions and a penalty in the match.
