Montpellier vs Zebre Predictions

Montpellier kicked off their EPCR Challenge Cup campaign with an away win last weekend. Zebre also started with a victory but have been struggling to come up with the goods on their travels.

  • Montpellier have won 3 consecutive matches in all competitions.
  • Montpellier have won 4 of their last 5 home games (Top 14).
  • Zebre have lost 4 of their last 5 fixtures in all competitions.
  • Zebre have lost 5 consecutive away games (URC).

Head to Head

Montpellier and Zebre will meet for the first time in a competitive match.

Montpellier Form

Montpellier had a poor first half against Black Lion in their opening European Challenge Cup match last weekend, conceding two penalties and a converted try to trail 13-0 at the break.

However, Montpellier turned their fortunes around in the second half, scoring three tries, a conversion, and a penalty to beat Black Lion 24-13 away from home.

Montpellier defeated Toulouse 44-14, La Rochelle 37-13, Lyon 35-13, and lost 9-7 to Clermont before beating Bordeaux 28-24 in their last five home matches.

Montpellier sit in 7th place in the Top 14 standings with 28 points from 11 games.

Montpellier will fancy their chances to make it back-to-back victories in the EPCR Challenge Cup when they host Zebre, as they have recorded three consecutive victories and have won four of their last five home matches.

Zebre Form

Zebre scored two converted tries and a penalty in the first half against Montauban to lead the Top 14 outfit 17-3 at half-time.

Zebre added three converted tries and a penalty in the second half to cruise to a comfortable 41-17 win at home.

Zebre have not been at their best away from home in their last five outings. They lost 35-34 to the Sharks, 63-24 to the Bulls, 76-5 to Leinster, 24-0 to Ospreys, and 50-26 to Leinster.

Zebre are 11th in the United Rugby Championship table with ten points from six matches.

Zebre will be pleased to have won their opening European Challenge Cup pool game, but must improve their away form to have a chance against Montpellier, having lost five in a row.
