Bath vs Sale Predictions - Sale poised to challenge Bath at Recreation Ground

Bath, the reigning Premiership champions, started the season with an emphatic 47-31 victory over Harlequins, showcasing their attacking power despite some defensive lapses. Sale Sharks, also in fine form after a clinical win against Gloucester, pose a strong challenge. However, Bath has a dominant recent record against Sale, winning their last two encounters. Key absentees and rotational changes may influence both squads, but Bath are tipped to edge a tighter and tactical game, with Sale likely to stay within a 10.5-point margin. Key players include Max Ojomoh for Bath and George Ford for Sale.

Bath vs Sale Predictions

Bath started slowly last week but roared back in the second half. I expect this game to be more tactical with fewer points on offer. While I believe Bath will have the quality to get the result, I do fancy the Sharks to get within 10.5 points.

  • Bath won the Premiership last season.
  • Bath won their opening match away from home.
  • Bath scored 47 points in their last match.
  • Bath have won their last 2 matches against Sale Sharks.
  • Sale won their opening match of the season.

Head to Head

Bath beat Sale Sharks twice last season, both home and away. At home, Bath won 40-13 back in 2024. Later in the season, in January this year, Bath won 32-23 away to Sale.

Bath Form

Bath are the defending Rugby Premiership champions after a very impressive campaign last season. They are favourites to retain the title this season.

Last week, in round one of the Premiership, Bath took little time to show their class, beating Harlequins 47-31 away from home. It was a very strong attacking performance from Bath, and while they will have concerns defensively, they were more than good enough to take a full house of points.

Bath Injuries & Team News

Max Ojomoh is likely to continue at flyhalf in the absence of Finn Russell. There may be a few other rotations after some impressive performances last weekend off the bench.

Sale Form

Sale Sharks have been competitive for the last few years and are once again expected near the top of the table. They made the semi-finals last season.

In their opener last Thursday, Sale beat Gloucester 27-10 at home. It was a very clinical performance from the Sharks as they dominated most of the game and all the key areas.

This week, away from home against the champions, will be a different challenge, but Sale certainly have the capabilities of making life tough for Bath.

Sale Injuries & Team News

George Ford will be crucial in this fixture for Sale. While there may be a few changes, Ford is the one that has the quality and experience to help Sale challenge in the champions backyard.
