Exeter vs Harlequins Predictions
Harlequins have been doing the business of late and should be able to give Exeter a fight at Twickenham on Saturday. The best bet for this huge clash is for Harlequins to lose by less than 11 points, but don’t discount the upset victory in London.
- Exeter have won their last 8 matches.
- Exeter are the defending Rugby Premiership champions.
- Harlequins have won or lost by less than 11 points in 20 of their last 21 matches (Premiership).
- Harlequins lost their last match against Exeter by 1 point.
Head to Head
Exeter Chiefs have won both matches this season against the Harlequins. In their first encounter Exeter smashed Harlequins 33-3 but in round 13 the Harlequins came within a point on the road, losing 21-20.
Exeter Form
Exeter Chiefs come into the final as defending champions of the English Rugby Premiership. In fact, they are into their sixth successive final, the second longest streak ever.
Last week the Chiefs had to overcome a very spirited Sale Sharks outfit in the semi-final. It was a tight encounter but home ground advantage told in the end with Exeter winning 40-30.
After being way off their best for large parts of the season, the fact that the Chiefs have still made the final speaks volumes for their resolve. They will fancy their chances when they step foot on the Twickenham pitch at the weekend.
Exeter Injuries & Team News
Exeter could go into the match with the same side that defeated Sale last weekend. Sam Skinner and Dane Ewers remain out through suspension.
Harlequins Form
Harlequins finished fourth in the regular Rugby Premiership season to qualify for the semi-final. They won 13 of their 22 matches during the round robin stage.
Finishing fourth meant a trip to the table topping Bristol for the semi-final, a match Bristol were expected to win. In what was a magnificent match where the lead switched between the two sides regularly, the match ended level after 80 minutes and extra time was required.
The Quins came out firing and scored early and late to secure a magnificent 43-36 away win. That will give them loads of confidence heading into the final. This is only the Harlequins second Premiership final after winning the competition in 2012.
Harlequins Injuries & Team News
The Harlequins have no reported injuries. After last week’s performance they will likely stick with a similar lineup.

Verdict
The Harlequins are in solid form heading into the Premiership final and will be confident of their chances of pushing the defending champions to the brink. I'm tipping the Quins to finish within 11 points of Exeter and perhaps cause an upset on Saturday at Twickenham.
