Only one point separates these two sides on the URC table and they both come into this match with a mixed bag of results. It should be competitive in Cardiff but I do feel the hosts will get within the 5.5 handicap.

Cardiff have had a superb season thus far against all the odds. They are currently placed sixth on the table with seven wins, a draw and seven losses.

While the Welsh side isn’t guaranteed a playoff berth just yet, victory here will take them a long way towards that goal. Their form has been decent of late as well, beating the Lions 20-17 at home before going down by a point at Benetton.

Despite their loss in the Challenge Cup against Connacht, Cardiff bounced back last weekend to beat Ospreys 36-19 in a Welsh derby away from home.

Munster Form

Munster have been terribly inconsistent this season in all competitions. Recently, they were knocked out of the Champions Cup at the quarterfinal stage and they are seventh in the URC.

At the end of February, Munster lost 34-28 at Edinburgh before losing 28-25 at Glasgow. They bounced back to beat Connacht 30-24 away from home before an impressive 25-24 away victory over La Rochelle in the Champions Cup.

That was followed by a defeat to Bordeaux in the quarters and then last week, Munster suffered a 16-13 home defeat to the Bulls in the URC.

With the Champions Cup no longer an issue, Munster will be at full strength this Friday. They desperately need a win to stay in the top eight.
