Dragons vs Sharks Predictions
The Dragons put in two good performances by their standards in the opening two rounds while the Sharks had 40 superb minutes last week against Connacht. They will surely fix their second half efforts this time around.

I am backing the Sharks to win this one comfortably.
- Sharks are the Currie Cup champions.
- Sharks beat the Dragons 69-14 in their last meeting.
- Sharks lost their URC opener last weekend.
- Dragons lost 34-6 to Leinster in their last match.
- Dragons won their last match.
Head to Head
Last season the Sharks only won four games, one of which was against the Dragons. They ran in a 69-14 victory in Durban.
Dragons Form
The Dragons started their URC campaign with a very strong comeback win over Ospreys at home, winning the match 23-21 thanks to a late score.
It was a perfect way to start the season for one of the weaker sides in the competition. The Newport outfit backed that performance up last weekend against Leinster, despite losing 34-6 away from home.
For huge parts of the game, the Dragons were in with a shout of an unlikely victory. However, once Leinster got more than a score ahead, the hosts pulled away and the Dragons had no answer.
Dragons Injuries & Team News
It was a physical two weeks for the Dragons but in front of their home crowd, they will want to cause an upset win. Expect a similar side to the one that played Ospreys.
Sharks Form
The Sharks won the Currie Cup a fortnight ago, beating the Lions in the final. They flew over to Ireland a day later to start their URC campaign.
While that is a challenging schedule, the Sharks will be bitterly disappointed with their opening result. Going to Connacht is never easy, but when you hold a 27-7 lead at half time, the expectation is that you’d win.
However, after a stunning first half display, the Sharks legs tired, or they became complacent as Connacht ran in a 36-30 comeback win.
Sharks Injuries & Team News
There will surely be changes to freshen things up from last weekend. That second half performance would not have been acceptable to head coach, John Plumtree.
Verdict
I am backing the Sharks to cover the -7 handicap in this fixture.
