Edinburgh vs Connacht Predictions

Edinburgh cannot make the play-offs but will look to finish their league campaign on a high. Connacht must win, and hope other results go their way to progress to this season's URC play-offs.

  • Connacht have won 7 of their last 8 fixtures (URC).
  • Connacht have won 3 of their last 4 away games (URC).
  • Edinburgh have won 3 of their last 5 home matches (URC).

Head to Head

Edinburgh have a slight edge with 15 wins to 12 against Connacht in 27 meetings.

Edinburgh Form

Edinburgh travelled to face the Dragons in Wales last weekend, winning 24-15 after leading their hosts 14-10 at half-time.

Edinburgh have been in solid form at home in the URC this season. They defeated Benetton 43-0, the Ospreys 19-17, lost 21-3 to the Glasgow Warriors and 19-17 to the Bulls, beat the Scarlets 24-19, and lost 40-19 to Ulster, before defeating Zebre 31-30 and the Sharks 33-30.

Edinburgh are 12th in the United Rugby Championship table with 38 points from 17 games.

Edinburgh are out of the running to make the play-offs, but will want to end their season with a home win for their fans. However, it will be a tough assignment against their opponents, as Connacht have been performing well.

Connacht Form

Connacht produced a solid first half against Munster last weekend, winning 26-7 at home after leading 19-0 at the break.

Connacht have had mixed fortunes away from home in the URC this season. They lost 14-8 to Cardiff, 17-15 to Munster, 48-28 to the Dragons, and 52-17 to Leinster, and defeated Zebre 31-15, Ulster 26-19, and the Stormers 33-24, before losing 33-21 to the Lions.

Connacht are 9th in the United Rugby Championship standings with 49 points from 17 matches.

Connacht have been in excellent form in the league in recent months, winning seven of their last eight fixtures, which gives them the edge to beat Edinburgh and advance to the play-offs. However, they also need other results to go their way, as they are one point behind Ulster and Cardiff, and two points behind Munster in the table.
