Glasgow vs Sharks Predictions

The Sharks have been much better over the last couple of months and come into this match on a four-match winning streak. That said, Glasgow have been very good this season, particularly at home. The 18-point handicap in favour of the hosts seems a bit steep though given the Sharks recent form.

  • Sharks won their last match against Glasgow.

Head to Head

Last season the Sharks beat Glasgow 40-12 at home.

Glasgow Form

Glasgow are enjoying a superb season in the URC and are only five points off Leinster at the top of the table. They have won 10 of their 13 matches to date.

At the start of March Glasgow beat Benetton 19-9 away from home. That was during the Six Nations so both sides were missing key players. It was followed by a 17-13 home win over Cardiff in the URC.

The Warriors then beat Scarlets 45-3 away from home at the end of March in what was a brilliant performance. The Scottish side did however lose last weekend, away to the Harlequins in the European Challenge Cup. The 28-24 will still be hurting as they are not knocked out of Europe.

Glasgow Injuries & Team News

Glasgow are not out of Europe so will be gunning for the URC. They are in a strong position so should select a strong side for this weekends encounter.

Sharks Form

The Sharks poor season has improved somewhat over the last few months. They are still 13th on the table, way below where they should be based on the squad at their disposal.

However, the Durban side have improved drastically, winning their last four matches in all competitions. The Sharks beat Ulster 22-12 at home towards the end of March before closing the month with a 23-13 victory over Edinburgh in the URC.

That was followed by a Challenge Cup home win over Zebre. Last week, in the Challenge Cup quarterfinal, the Sharks were too good at home for Edinburgh, winning 36-30.

Sharks Injuries & Team News

The Sharks traveled this week after a tough match last weekend. I certainly expect some changes to be made to their side.
