Stormers vs Ospreys Preview
The Stormers are rightly favourites at home, but they have not been at their absolute best this season yet. On the other hand, Ospreys, even in defeat, have been very competitive this year. I am backing the visitors get to lose by less than 18 points.

- Stormers have won 8 of their last 9 matches.
- Stormers have managed an 18 or more-point win in just 1 of their last 10 matches.
- Ospreys have won 2 of their last 3 matches.
- Ospreys have not lost by 18+ points in their last 11 matches.
Head to Head
Last season these two sides drew 16-16 in Wales.
Stormers Form
The Stormers have made the URC final in the last two years, winning one and ending as runners-up last season. This campaign has not been as good, but their recent form suggests they are close to their best once again.
John Dobson’s side is currently fifth on the table, four points off Munster, but should they get the bonus point win and Munster falter against the Bulls, the Cape Town outfit could move into third.
The Stormers form has been good of late despite a few hiccups along the way. They will still be disappointed with their 22-21 Champions Cup loss to La Rochelle two weeks ago.
However, other than a loss to the Bulls away, the Stormers have won eight of their last nine matches in all competitions.
Stormers Injuries & Team News
Dobson has selected a strong outfit littered with international players.
Ospreys Form
The Ospreys are enjoying a fine season and are by far the best Welsh side this season. They are seventh with seven wins and six defeats in 13 games.
The Welsh outfit however needs to keep picking up points because a quarterfinal is far from confirmed. They are only one point clear of all four sides below them.
Last weekend the Ospreys suffered a 23-13 away defeat to Gloucester in the Challenge Cup quarterfinal. Before that they beat Sale Sharks at home and the Lions away so they should still have plenty of confidence.
Ospreys Injuries & Team News
This is a crucial game for Ospreys, although getting anything from it will be seen as a bonus.
Verdict
Ospreys are set to get within the 18-point handicap at the Cape Town Stadium.
