Ireland vs New Zealand big game of the weekend for 1 November 2025 (Getty Images)
The 2025 Autumn Nations Series kicks off this Saturday, 1 November 2025. All teams are not in action this weekend as it still technically falls outside of the international window.
While there are no knockout games there are still major internationals happening in November that will have a keen eye on. This weekend sees four games, two of which are massive with England hosting Australia and Ireland vs New Zealand in the USA.
Teams have not yet been announced for this weekend, so it may be a good time to get your bets in early before the handicap lines change closer to the weekend.
Autumn Nations Series Odds (1 November)
England vs Australia, Twickenham @ 17:10 SAST
England are favourites to win with odds of 1.28 for the outright and the handicap set at 9.5 at this stage. Australia are priced at 3.75 for victory.
This will be England's first game together since the Six Nations earlier this year. Of course, they did tour Argentina in July but that was without their British & Irish Lions players.
Last year, the Wallabies shocked England with a try in the last minute to win the game. At this point, the 9.5 handicap looks steep for me given Australia's good form this year and overall improvement. They also played last week, beating Japan 19-15.
South Africa vs Japan, Wembley @ 18:10 SAST
The England vs Australia game will still be going when South Africa and Japan kick off at Wembley - both games are being played in London.
The Springboks are ranked number one in the world and although they haven't been perfect in 2025, have shown very good form of late. They won the recent Rugby Championship as well.
Rassie Erasmus will have one eye on next week's clash against France and will almost certainly give squad players a run in this game. Not that it changes much as the squad depth of South Africa is exceptional.
The most intriguing part of this encounter is the fact that Eddie Jones is back at the helm of Japan. He is the one that masterminded the miracle of Brighton against South Africa during the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England - can he once again see the Brave Blossoms cause a major shock?
Japan are priced as huge outsiders at 51.00 with South Africa carrying little value at 1.002. However, the handicap of 38.5 could offer value, but you may want to see the team Erasmus names first.
Scotland vs USA, Murrayfield @ 19:40 SAST
There isn't much that can be said about this fixture. Scotland are huge favourites with the handicap set at 42.5. The USA have not achieved great results of late, but they are getting more exposure against top nations with the 2031 World Cup set to be hosted in the United States.
Gregor Townsend is sure to use this fixture to give some players some match minutes with far bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks.
Ireland vs New Zealand, Soldier Field, USA @ 22:00 SAST
This is the one everyone is waiting for. New Zealand are on a Grand Slam tour in 2025 and this is their first fixture. It is very different that the game is taking place in the USA and not in Dublin, but World Rugby is trying to build exposure for the 2031 World Cup in the US, and it is also a very good financial move for both unions.
The last time these two clashed in the USA, Ireland won. That was back in 2016 and also Ireland's first-ever victory over the All Blacks. However, while Ireland have been among the top ranked sides in the world over the last few years, New Zealand knocked them out of the 2023 Rugby World Cup and also beat Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in 2024.
Many are of the mind that Ireland's time of domination is over with the golden generation retiring or at least past their prime with not much to fall back on. That said, the Irish squad is still a very good one for this fixture and they will offer a stern test to the All Blacks.
New Zealand are paying 1.44 for the win and Ireland 2.75. The line is at 5.5 with Easybet, so a close encounter is expected.
Verdict
My multi bet tips for the four games are as follows: Japan +38.5, Australia +9.5, USA +42.5 and New Zealand -5.5.
