Overview - International Rugby Returns
The annual tour of the South up North gets underway officially this weekend, although there were a few games last weekend outside of the international window, this is the first weekend of the Autumn Nations series or Quilter Nations Series. World Rugby Rankings are at stake this November, which is crucial because the rankings as at the end of 2025 will be used for the 2027 Rugby World Cup draw.

Match Previews & Betting Odds
France vs South Africa
Many have described this as the match of 2025. While it was also said about the New Zealand vs South Africa game at Eden Park, it is hard to argue against this match being the one. They have not met since the 2023 Rugby World Cup quarterfinal where South Africa managed a 29-28 victory.
France have not played much as a unit this year, at least not since the Six Nations, so they could be a bit rusty while South Africa comes off the long season, so may be tired but more cohesive. The Springboks are slight favourites but France will be desperate for revenge - I think we are in for another humdinger.
Ireland vs Japan
Japan come into this game off the back of a heavy defeat in London to South Africa last Saturday. It isn't getting any easier for them with an Ireland side that lost to New Zealand last weekend, waiting. Much depends on what changes Ireland makes but for the sake of building cohesion, they may stick with a similar side.
Scotland vs New Zealand
New Zealand began their Grand Slam tour with a win in the USA over Ireland last weekend. The All Blacks were far from perfect, requiring a last 20-minute push for points after trailing for the first 60 minutes.
That said, Scotland are no walkover this weekend. The Scots have achieved some fine results of late and thrashed a poor USA side last Saturday. The handicap is set at 7.5 points in New Zealand's favour but with the Murrayfield crowd right behind them, Scotland could cause a huge upset.
England vs Fiji
It may longer be 2023 when Fiji beat England at Twickenham prior to the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Yes, that is still fresh in the memory, and the Fijians went close once again when they met in the quarterfinal of the World Cup, however, that time England held on.
Fiji are still a very good side and fast improving. They recently won the Pacific Nations Cup, beating Japan in the final. They also came within a score of Australia in July this year. The 22.5 handicap is very steep in England's favour.
Italy vs Australia
This is another intriguing match on Saturday, kicking off at the same time as England. Australia have won 18 of their 19 matches previously against Italy, but it was the Italians who won their last encounter, 28-27 in 2025.
Despite all the improvement shown in 2025, the Wallabies were poor a fortnight ago in their narrow win over Japan and were poor again last weekend in a heavy loss to England. This is a potential banana skin for Australia with Italy achieving some very strong results.
Wales vs Argentina
This game takes place on Sunday, and it is quite telling how far Wales have fallen. Argentina are favourites to win with the handicap at 11.5 points. Results have not been kind to Wales, but they did end their losing streak by beating Japan in November.
Argentina have had a strong year, beating New Zealand and Australia while pushing the Springboks very close. On the other hand, Wales will be desperate to perform on home soil, so this could be closer than the handicap suggests.

Wales vs Argentina is a game I am not going anywhere near. England vs Fiji is another fixture that I am not comfortable with while Ireland vs Japan is largely dependent on the team Ireland put out.
France to beat South Africa @ 2.00.
Italy to cover +11.5 vs Australia @ 1.90.
Scotland to cover +7.5 vs New Zealand @ 1.80.
