Samoa did not feature on the opening weekend so they will be eager to get their campaign underway. They had some good warm-up games including their last one where they narrowly lost to Ireland.

Samoa are always good for an upset at a World Cup but often disappoints. However, this year there are even higher hopes for them.

One thing is sure, Samoa will need a solid bonus point win from this game if they are going to have anyone believe they can upset the big boys.

Chile were superb entertainment over the weekend when they played their first-ever Rugby World Cup match. While they lost comfortably, the Chileans were in the game against Japan for most of it, especially in the first half.

Perhaps the biggest roar of the opening weekend came when Chile scored the opening try against Japan to take an early lead. They ended up losing 42-12 after scoring another second-half try.

It was clear throughout that Chile had plenty of talent within their ranks, and physically they matched up well with Japan. The question of whether they can maintain that a week later against a strong Samoan side remains to be seen.

Chile’s best chance of a major upset was against Japan and now against Samoa. They are very unlikely to threaten England and Argentina. So I expect a full-strength side from the debutants.
