France welcome Ireland for a massive 2020 Six Nations encounter at the Stade de France on Saturday night. Both sides can lift the trophy and they will know what is required ahead of kick off, as England play Italy earlier in the day.

France Form & News

France have enjoyed a stunning Six Nations tournament in 2020, but one below par showing against Scotland may be the difference between glory and failure.

France held off England 24-17 at home to get their Six Nations campaign underway, before taking down Italy 35-22. A brilliant showing then saw France claim a 27-23 away victory against Wales, but they backed that up with a 28-17 defeat in Scotland.

Last week, France brushed aside Wales 38-21 at home in an international friendly clash.

That loss to Scotland could come back to haunt the French, as a win against Ireland isn’t quite enough. To lift the trophy, France must claim a four-try bonus point and win by a healthy margin to match England’s points difference.

Lock Bernard le Roux has been cleared to play after being cited for foul play last weekend. France have no other injury concerns heading into this title decider.

Ireland Form & News

Ireland go into the last round of the 2020 Six Nations with destiny in their own hands. While it is easier said than done, all they need to do is win comfortably to claim the title.

Ireland edged out Scotland 19-12 and Wales 24-12 in their opening pair of Six Nations fixtures. Unfortunately for Ireland, they then went down 24-12 away to England, but bounced back last weekend by smashing hapless Italy 50-17 in Dublin.

Wing Garry Ringrose is the only injury concern for Ireland after he broke his jaw against Italy last weekend.

France vs Ireland Head to Head

Ireland hold a 6-1 advantage over France in their last nine meetings, with two draws.

Ireland won 26-14 at the Aviva Stadium in their last clash in 2019.

France vs Ireland Odds

France are priced at 1.53 to win, while Ireland are available at 2.62. The draw pays 23.00.

The handicap is set at 4 points.

France vs Ireland Match Up

The way both sides play depends on how England fare earlier in the day. Should England claim a big win, it will alter the style of both sides. Should England stumble, then Ireland will look to be a bit more conservative to ensure they pick up a win. This has all the hallmarks of a classic.
