The Hurricanes are second on the table on 27 points but have a game in hand on the Blues who are top. The Canes are the only unbeaten side left in the competition after winning all six games to date.

It has been a superb start to the season for the Hurricanes. They had a week off last weekend after beating the Highlanders 47-12 the week before. The Canes also thrashed the Rebels 54-28 in March.

The Canes had a bye last week so should be fresh to go this time around with a full-strength squad.

Chiefs Form

The Chiefs have not made the kind of dominant start as they did in 2023, but with five wins from seven, they are still sitting in a strong position.

Other than their two losses, the Chiefs have been pretty convincing this season. The defeat to the Reds in round three was a surprise and two weeks ago they lost away to the Crusaders, a team who had lost five in a row.

Last week the Chiefs however bounced back against Moana, winning the game 68-12 at home.
