The Reds entertain the Western Force at the Suncorp Stadium in Super Rugby AU on Friday. The Force gave a good account of themselves in their return to top level rugby last week, but the Reds are a side with lots of quality, so I’m backing a comfortable win for the side from Brisbane.

Reds Form & News

The Reds have a talented young team and have impressed in 2020. While it wasn't the most routine victory, the Reds hit the ground running in Super Rugby AU with a 32-26 win at home over the Waratahs.

In their last match, the Reds fought back in the final five minutes to go from 18-8 down to draw 18-all away against the Rebels. Extra time could not separate the sides, and the spoils were shared.

The Reds are the favourites this week and they will be eyeing nothing less than a comfortable bonus point win.

The Reds have no injury concerns ahead of this clash but we could see a few changes. Alex Mafi made an impact off the bench and scored the crucial match-leveling try so he may come in for Brandon Paenega- Amosa at hooker.

Western Force Form & News

The Western Force returned to Super Rugby last week with a 23-14 away loss at the Waratahs. The match lacked quality in wet conditions, but that did not stop the Force from going 14-0 up.

However, in the second half, the Waratahs' experience came to the fore - and the Force could not deal with them.

The Western Force will need some time to get back up to speed with this level of rugby, but there were signs last week that they could become a decent side.

Western Force will be satisfied with their opening performance so I expect minimal changes.

Reds vs Western Force Head to Head

The Western Force have tasted victory in three of their last four Super Rugby meetings with the Reds. Their last match was played in 2017, with the Force winning 40-26 at Suncorp Stadium.

One must remember, however, that they are both different sides in 2020 and the Reds have far more experience at this level.

Reds vs Western Force Odds

The Reds are priced at 1.13, while the Western Forced are available at 6.00. A draw pays 34.00.

The handicap is set at 15 points and pays 1.91 both ways.

Reds vs Western Force Match Up

The weather is expected to be good for the clash on Friday in Brisbane, so the Reds should be able to express themeselves. Both sides are poor at set pieces in general, so it is going to be interesting to see how the match flows.
