Western Force vs Waratahs Predictions

The Western Force will be full of confidence after their upset victory in Melbourne last weekend, so it is likely to be a long 80 minutes of the Waratahs. The best bet is for the Force to cover the -6 handicap.

  • Western Force won their last match against the Rebels.
  • Western Force beat the Waratahs in their last match.
  • Waratahs have lost their last 6 matches in Super Rugby AU.
  • Waratahs have lost 4 of their last 6 matches by more than 6 points.
  • Waratahs have conceded 225 points in their last 6 matches.

Head to Head

The Waratahs hold a 11-7 advantage over their last 18 matches against the Western Force.

They last met in round three of this year’s Super Rugby AU competition where the Force won 20-16 in Sydney.

Western Force Form

The Western Force find themselves fourth on the Super Rugby AU table with a good chance of finishing third if they can get the win this weekend.

Compared to last season the Force have been much improved this year but still only managed one win in their opening five matches. That came in a 20-16 win at the Waratahs in round three.

It was followed by two narrow defeats to the Rebels (10-7) and to the Reds (26-19). The Force then traveled to Canberra where the Brumbies dismantled them 42-14.

Last week the Force got a massive 16-15 win over the Rebels in Melbourne. It was another very impressive defensive display by the men from Perth in which they didn’t concede a try.

Western Force Injuries & Team News

The Western Force have made just two changes to their starting side this week. Byron Ralston drops out at right wing for the fit again Richard Kahui.

Brynard Stander comes into the loose trip to replace Tomas Lezana.

Waratahs Form

The Waratahs are bottom of the Super Rugby AU table with just two points from their six matches. They have not managed a win this season and have a -142 points difference.

The Tahs’ produced their best performance of the season in their last match, losing 24-22 to the Brumbies. It was a very good defensive display but the Brumbies were also very poor on the day.

Prior to that narrow defeat, the Sydney-based outfit lost 46-14 at home to the Reds and 33-14 to the Rebels in Melbourne. Last week the Waratahs had a bye week.

Waratahs Injuries & Team News

Flyhalf Will Harrison is injured so Ben Donaldson will start in the number 10 jersey. The only other change sees Lachlan Swinton come in for Jeremy Williams.
