Toshiba Brave Lupus cruised to an easy 41-19 away win over the Canon Eagles before a brief hiatus in the Japan Rugby League One.

Before that, Toshiba Brave Lupus had a poor start to their campaign, losing 46-0 to rivals the Wild Knights at home before edging the Shizuoka Blue Revs 26-22 away.

Toshiba Brave Lupus will fancy their chances to pocket all the points on offer, as they have defeated the Mitsubishi Dynaboars four times in a row and crushed their opponents 61-8 at home last season.

The Mitsubishi Dynaboars had no answer against the Wild Knights before a break in the Japan Rugby League One, losing 33-3 to the Wild Knights at home.

Before that disappointing performance, the Mitsubishi Dynaboars lost 27-24 to the Urayasu D-Rocks in their opening fixture, but bounced back with a 17-10 home win over the Canon Eagles.

Head coach Todd Blackadder highlighted his team's ability to score when under pressure in their previous match against the Canon Eagles: "There were many very positive things to see from this match. Our scrum was made up of young players, but they performed well. We were also pleased that our lineout defence worked well and we were able to put pressure on the opponents. However, the game did not go as planned throughout the entire 80 minutes. Even so, the players remained calm and dealt with the situation well. We were also able to convert each opportunity that presented itself into a score."

Head coach Glenn Delaney commented that his side lacked the finishing touch in their loss to the Wild Knights: "The biggest difference was in the accuracy within the opponent's 22-meter line. Every time they got into that area, they converted their chances, but we weren't able to do that in their own line. In particular, the opponent put pressure on us in the first 25 minutes. I think we did well physically in some areas, but what really stood out was our inability to convert our chances. They made a great effort, but I think we need to improve our accuracy and convert our chances."
