Tonga and Canada meet for third place in the Pacific Nations Cup, both coming off heavy semi-final defeats. Tonga have been stronger in recent head-to-heads, winning the last four matches against Canada and holding a slim overall lead between the sides. Despite inconsistent performance in the semis, Tonga are favoured due to their recent form against Canada, who have struggled defensively and suffered two heavy defeats in the tournament. Key players are listed for both teams, with final odds pending.

Tonga Form

Tonga produced a solid first half against Japan in their semi-final clash last weekend, scoring three tries and two conversions to trail by only two points at the break.

However, the second half painted a different picture, as Tonga conceded five tries, four conversions, and a penalty to lose 62-24.

Earlier in the tournament, Tonga beat Samoa 30-16 and lost 32-10 to Fiji in Pool A of the Pacific Nations Cup.

Tonga lacked consistency in their previous match, but they have defeated Canada four consecutive times, giving them the edge to secure third place in this edition of the Pacific Nations Cup.
