The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship takes place between 1-4 October.

The DP World Tour returns to iconic St. Andrews for the 25th edition of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, featuring a strong field of the world's best golfers. Who will come out on top at the Old Course come Sunday?

Robert MacIntyre returns to defend his title after a four-stroke victory over Tyrrell Hatton in 2025.

The players compete across three courses for the first three days: the Old Course at St. Andrews, the Championship Course at Carnoustie and Kingsbarns Golf Links. The final round will take place on the Old Course on Sunday.

Past Major winners who will tee off on Thursday include Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Cameron Smith, Padraig Harrington, Brooks Koepka, Francesco Molinari, Bubba Watson, and Danny Willett.

These are our four selections that could win the title this weekend.

Tommy Fleetwood

Tommy Fleetwood has been in solid form on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour since mid-July, placing T13 at the Genesis Scottish Open, T4 at the Open Championship, T7 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T47 at the BMW Championship, and T11 at the Tour Championship before missing the cut at the BMW PGA Championship and withdrawing from the Open de France last weekend.

Other noteworthy results achieved by Fleetwood this season include a T4 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, a T7 at the Genesis Invitational, a T8 at the Players Championship, a T10 at the Valero Texas Open, a T5 at the Truist Championship, a T4 at the Memorial Tournament, a T11 at the RBC Canadian Open, a T11 at the U.S. Open, and a T14 at the Travelers Championship.

The world's fourth-ranked golfer has compiled an excellent record at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, finishing T5 in 2011, T55 in 2012, 5th in 2013, T2 in 2014, T13 in 2015, T15 in 2016, T25 in 2017, T2 in 2018, T5 in 2019, T7 in 2021, T22 in 2022, T84 in 2023, 3rd in 2024, and T21 in 2025.

Fleetwood has played consistently well this year and has claims for the title in Scotland this weekend.

Alex Noren

Alex Noren has been in decent nick on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour lately, placing T18 at the Open Championship, T7 at the Wyndham Championship, T3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, T37 at the BMW Championship, and T15 at the BMW PGA Championship.

Other notable results achieved by Noren this season include a T12 at the Genesis Invitational, a T24 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, a T7 at the Cadillac Championship, and a 9th at the Memorial Tournament.

The 12-time DP World Tour winner has been in solid form in his last five starts at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, finishing T11 in 2016, T15 in 2019, T12 in 2021, T2 in 2022, and T12 in 2024.

Noren can convert his recent results into a victory at the Old Course come Sunday.

Lucas Herbert

Lucas Herbert has been on top of his game on the LIV Golf Tour and PGA Tour since May with a victory at the Virginia, a T8 at the Korea, a T24 at the Andalucia, an MC at the U.S. Open, a T6 at the Open Championship, a victory at the United Kingdom, a T22 at the New York, and a T17 at the Indianapolis

Additional highlights from Herbert's season include a T18 at the Crown Australian Open, a T9 in Riyadh, a T6 in Adelaide, a 2nd at the 105th New Zealand Open, a T8 in Hong Kong, and a T17 in Singapore.

The three-time DP World Tour winner has made two appearances at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, finishing T9 in 2018 before missing the cut in 2019.

Herbert has come good lately and will look to win his third trophy of the season at St. Andrews this weekend.

Jacob Olesen

Jacob Olesen has been in great shape on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour during the past two months, placing T6 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, T9 at the Danish Golf Championship, T16 at the Nexo Championship, T2 at the British Masters, T7 at the Amgen Irish Open before missing the cut at the recent BMW PGA Championship

Other prominent performances achieved by Olesen this year include a T3 at the Qatar Masters, a T5 at the Magical Kenya Open, a T16 at the Hero Indian Open, a T4 at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a T4 at the Turkish Airlines Open, and a T2 at the Soudal Open.

The Dane finished T5 at the 2025 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on debut.

Olesen has the form to go all the way and win the title on the Old Course at St. Andrews this weekend.

Verdict

Fleetwood has done nothing wrong all season and has every chance of securing victory in Scotland.

Noren is no stranger to winning on the DP World Tour and can emerge victorious on the Old Course this weekend.

Herbert has been back to his best lately and will fancy his chances to lift the trophy at St. Andrews come Sunday.

Olesen has been knocking hard lately and can win the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this weekend.
