Bangladesh enter the quarter-final as one of the stronger teams in the competition and are expected to have too much quality for Malaysia. Malaysia impressed in their eight-wicket victory over Hong Kong, but Bangladesh possess considerably more depth with both bat and ball.

Bangladesh enter the quarter-finals as one of the stronger teams in the Asian Games. Captain and keeper Litton Das leads a batting lineup containing Tanzid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy and Parvez Hossain Emon, with Yasir Ali adding depth lower down the order.

The squad also has several all-round options through Saif Hassan, Mahedi Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain and Nasum Ahmed. Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Hasan Mahmud give Bangladesh a strong pace attack, while Rishad Hossain provides the main spin option.

Malaysia Form


Malaysia topped Group B after opening their campaign with an eight-wicket win over Hong Kong. They restricted Hong Kong to 81/9 before knocking off their target off just 12 overs, with Muhamad Syahadat unbeaten on 36 and Virandeep Singh 32 not out after sharing an unbroken stand of 70 run runs.

Pavandeep Singh and Muhammad Amir were particularly impressive with the ball, taking three wickets each. Virandeep Singh also provides an important bowling option with 130 career wickets, while Vijay Unni has taken 88 wickets during his career.

The hybrid pitches at Korogi Sports Park have played on the slower side, with early movement on offer for the seamers along with some grip and turn for the spinners. The average first-innings score at the venue to date is around 125 runs.
