The Hundred Betting Tips

The Hundred is a newly formed format of cricket. While the game possesses three formats in Test, ODI and T20 cricket, The Hundred is even shorter than the T20 game. It was an idea from the England and Wales Cricket Board and will have its first event in 2020, should CONVID-19 not force postponement.

The Hundred History

In September 2016, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) floated the idea of starting a professional 100-ball cricket format. After some resistance, the 18 first-class counties, the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA), and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) voted in favour of starting a professional competition using this entirely-new format.

As T20 was being played worldwide, the ECB were keen to try something new in order to attract a new fanbase and bring an even faster paced form of cricket to the masses.

For those wondering how 100-ball cricket will work, here are the rules, courtesy of Wikipedia:

- 100 balls per innings
- A change of ends after 10 balls
- Bowlers deliver either five or 10 consecutive balls
- Each bowler can deliver a maximum of 20 balls per game
- Each bowling side gets a strategic time-out of up to two and a half minutes
- A 25-ball powerplay start for each team
- Two fielders are allowed outside the initial 30-yard circle during the powerplay
- Teams will be able to call time-outs, as has been the case in the Indian Premier League since 2009
- A simplified scoreboard is also proposed

Eight city-based franchises will take part in The Hundred. Each franchise will play four games at home and four away (each side will play a 'rival' home and away, and every other side once), with the highest-placed side on the league table going straight into the final. The teams that come second and third will feature in a semi-final, which will take place on the same day as the final.

Each franchise is allowed a squad of 15 players, with a maximum of three overseas players permitted to don their jersey.
