MI London, in strong form, are favorites against a struggling London Spirit team in The Hundred. While MI London's big hitters and bowlers have been delivering consistently, London Spirit's batters need to step up to keep their playoff hopes alive. Key players include Dewald Brevis and Jamie Overton for London Spirit, with Will Jacks and Tom Curran expected to shine for MI London. The match is crucial for both sides: MI London seeks first place, and London Spirit must win all remaining games to see the playoffs.

London Spirit vs MI London Predictions

MI London have shown good form this season and have an eye on finishing in first place, although they will need at least two more wins to pip the Welsh Fire and the Trent Rockets. The London Spirit’s batters have failed to fire but they still have a chance to scrape into the playoffs but they have to win their remaining games.

  • London Spirit’s Dewald Brevis has scored 22, 39, 37* & 38 in his last 5 knocks.
  • London Spirit’s Liam Livingstone has scores of 69, 33 & 34 in his last 5 innings.

  • MI London’s Will Jacks has scored 54, 65 & 62 in his last 3 matches.
  • MI London’s Sherfane Rutherford has scores of 61, 24*, 21 & 41 in his last 5 innings.

Head-to-Head

MI London have won four and lost one of their last five matches in The Hundred against the London Spirit. They were previously playing as the Oval Invincibles.

London Spirit Form

London Spirit are coming off another difficult outing after suffering a 37-run defeat to Sunrisers Leeds. Their batting showed some resistance, but their bowling struggles left them chasing an enormous target and exposed the problems that have hurt their campaign.

Sunrisers Leeds piled up 241, with Spirit unable to make early inroads. Their first breakthrough only came with the score already on 148, allowing the Sunrisers’ top order to take complete control. David Wiese and Adam Milne were the only bowlers to pick up a wicket, while the rest of the attack struggled to contain the scoring rate.

In reply, Spirit were under pressure early after losing both top-order batters cheaply. Liam Livingstone and Dewald Brevis tried to rebuild with scores of 34 and 38, but the standout performance came from David Willey, who struck an impressive 83 off 46 balls at a strike rate above 180.

Despite Willey’s powerful innings, the target proved far too steep. Spirit will need a sharper bowling effort and stronger top-order contributions if they are to revive their campaign.

MI London Form

MI London arrive in confident mood after a commanding 45-run win over Manchester Super Giants. They produced a strong all-round performance, posting 183 with the bat before bowling Manchester out for 138.

Their top order set up the victory. Will Jacks was outstanding, smashing 62 off 31 balls at a strike rate of 200, while Nicholas Pooran added further firepower with 54 from 28 deliveries. Useful contributions from James Vince and Sam Curran helped MI London push beyond the 180-run mark.

The bowlers then backed up that batting display superbly. Rashid Khan was the match-winner with a brilliant spell of 5/17 from his 20 balls, while Tom Curran also played an important role by taking two wickets.

Jacks has been MI London’s leading batter this season, scoring 165 runs in five matches at an average of 39. Richard Gleeson has been equally important with the ball, claiming nine wickets in five games and playing a major role in the team’s success.

With their batting firing and their attack in strong form, MI London will look to carry that momentum into this contest.

Team news

The Spirit will be hoping their big hitters will fire to keep their playoff hopes alive, while MI London are targeting top spot but will need two wins at least to secure that berth.

London Spirit (possible XI): Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Jonny Bairstow, James Rew, Liam Livingston (c), Dewald Brevis, James Coles, Jamie Overton, David Willey, Andrew Tye, Adam Milne, Adam Zampa.

MI London (possible XI): Will Jacks, James Vince, Nicholas Pooran, Sam Curran (c), Sherfane Rutherford, Tom Curran, Rashid Khan, Ollie Pope, Trent Boult, Nathan Sowter, Richard Gleeson.

Verdict

MI London are strong favourites to take the win. Dewald Brevis has been scoring consistently and there is a great payout awaiting if he top-scores for the Spirit in what looks like a low-scoring match. Jamie Overton, Will Jacks and Tom Curran are also backed to star with bat and ball.
