Trent Rockets head into The Hundred men’s final at Lord’s after being one of the standout sides of the tournament.

The Rockets had built their campaign on consistency and enjoyed a six-match winning streak before their final league-stage defeat to Southern Brave. Even in that loss, they showed enough depth to suggest they remain a serious threat in the final.

Against the Brave the Rockets posted 158/5 after being asked to bat. Ben Duckett, Finn Allen and Aneurin Donald all made starts but none could turn them into a major innings. The recovery came through Mitchell Santner and Lewis Gregory, who added an unbeaten 66 from 39 balls for the sixth wicket.

Santner finished on 35 not out from 23 deliveries, while Gregory struck 28 not out from 18, helping the Rockets reach a competitive total after slipping to 92/5.

The Rockets then made early inroads during the Brave’s chase. Craig Overton produced the early breakthrough while Calvin Harrison impressed by removing Moeen Ali and David Miller, but it was not enough to deny the Brave their victory.

That defeat ended the Rockets' winning run but it might have sharpened their focus ahead of the final.

Manchester Super Giants Form

The Super Giants stormed into the final with major momentum after defeating the Sunrisers by 20 runs in the Eliminator.

The Super Giants were put under early pressure when the in-form Tim Seifert fell to the second ball of the match. Paul Walter responded with a brilliant innings at the top of the order, smashing 80 from 46 balls to give the Super Giants the platform they needed.

Jos Buttler also played an important supporting role (33 off 20) before Heinrich Klaasen produced his most destructive innings of the tournament, smashing 63 off 26 balls, combining with Walter in a match-shaping 114-run partnership off 52 balls. Their power-hitting lifted the Super Giants to an imposing 186/4 off their 100 balls.

Josh Tongue was outstanding with the ball, removing Mitch Marsh and Zak Crawley and ending with superb figures of 4/26. His pace, bounce and accuracy broke the back of the Sunrisers chase.

The Sunrisers chased well but the Super Giants held their nerve with Liam Dawson keeping a tight line while Sonny Baker picked up important wickets to secure their place in the final.
