Head-to-Head

The first leg of this clash ended 1-1 last weekend.

Club Africain Form

Club Africain reached the second preliminary round after overcoming Mali's Djoliba 3-2 on aggregate.

They won the opening leg 1-0 at home before securing a 2-2 draw in Bamako to advance.

Maher Kanzari's side then earned a 1-1 draw against Mazembe in Lubumbashi, recovering quickly after conceding in the first half.

Their most recent domestic league fixture ended in a 2-1 defeat away to US Ben Guerdane on 10 October. Before that setback, they had beaten ES Zarzis 1-0.

TP Mazembe Form

TP Mazembe began their Champions League campaign with a 1-0 away victory over Ghana's Medeama in September.

They followed that result with a 3-1 home win to advance 4-1 on aggregate, with Patrick Mwaungulu scoring twice in the return leg.

The Congolese side were held to a 1-1 draw by Club Africain last weekend despite taking the lead. They also had a late goal disallowed.

Mazembe have considerable experience in African competition, having won the Champions League five times, but now face a difficult return fixture in Tunisia.

Verdict

Club Africain managed a draw away from home which puts them in the front seat for this fixture. We are backing a narrow, tightly fought home win.
