In the much-anticipated clash between Sunrisers Leeds and Manchester Super Giants, Sunrisers Leeds are tipped as the favorites for victory. Jos Buttler (3.75) and Mitchell Marsh (3.4) are predicted to lead the batting charts for their respective teams. On the bowling front, both Gus Atkinson (2.75) and Brydon Carse (3.5) are backed to take more than 1.5 wickets each, suggesting strong performances from both bowlers. The key recommendation: expect big contributions from these star players.

  • The Sunrisers Leeds will cement their playoff spot with a win.
  • Manchester Super Giants are third on net run rate but a defeat could see them lose out on a playoff spot if other results go wrong for them.
  • Both sides are in good form with bat and ball so this clash could go either way.

Manchester Super Giants vs Sunrisers Leeds Predictions

The Super Giants have won back-to-back matches to lift themselves into the playoff spots after a poor start, so they will be looking for their momentum to take them into the playoffs. • Manchester Super Giants’ Jos Buttler has scored 63*, 55* & 51* in his last 5 knocks.
  • Manchester Super Giants’ Tim Seifert has scores of 62* & 55 in his last 2 innings.
  • Manchester Super Giants’ Gus Atkinson has figures of 2/27, 2/12 & 2/19 in 4 matches.

  • Sunrisers Leeds’ Ryan Rickelton has scores of 94*, 65 & 40 in his last 3 innings.

Head-to-Head

Sunrisers Leeds have won three and lost two of their last five matches in The Hundred against the Manchester Super Giants.

Manchester Super Giants Form

Manchester Super Giants are third on the table with four wins and three defeats, and they arrive after a hard-fought 10-run win over Southern Brave. Jos Buttler has been their top run-scorer with 278 runs, while Gus Atkinson has been their leading wicket-taker with nine scalps.

In the previous match Manchester posted 149/8 from their 100 balls after a superb opening stand between Tim Seifert and Paul Walter. Seifert made 55 from 34 balls, while Walter struck 64 from just 32 deliveries. The pair added 119 for the first wicket and had Manchester on course for 160-plus, but the rest of the batting line-up failed to build on their platform.

Southern Brave lost Michael Kyle Pepper early in reply, before Jamie Smith and Tristan Stubbs tried to rebuild. Smith made 26 from 25 balls, while Stubbs finished unbeaten on 53 from 38, but the chase lacked urgency and the Brave fell 10 runs short.

Sunrisers Leeds Form

Sunrisers Leeds are second on the table with five wins and two defeats, and they come into this clash full of confidence after a dominant 71-run win over Welsh Fire. Mitchell Marsh has been their leading run-scorer in The Hundred with 374 runs, while Brydon Carse has led the bowling attack with 11 wickets.

In their previous match the Sunrisers batted first and posted a commanding 201 from their 100 balls. Marsh and Ryan Rickelton once again gave them a flying start, with Marsh scoring 50 from 34 deliveries and Rickelton adding 40 from just 22.

Zak Crawley then showed his class in the format, smashing 34 from only 12 balls, while Dan Lawrence also made a useful contribution as the Sunrisers powered to a huge total.

Welsh Fire never settled in the chase. Phil Salt made 13 from 14 balls, Matthew Short scored 43 from 29, and Joe Root battled for 31, but they never looked in control. The middle and lower order struggled badly as the Fire were restricted to a score of just 130.

Team news

Old Trafford should offer balance, with early swing and seam for quicks before set batters score freely. Spinners may influence the middle overs, while chasing under lights could appeal strongly to both skippers at the toss.

Manchester Super Giants (possible XI): Tim Seifert, Paul Walter, Jos Buttler (c), Heinrich Klaasen, Leus du Plooy, Tom Moores, Michael Bracewell, Liam Dawson, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue, Noor Ahmad.

Sunrisers Leeds (possible XI): Mitchell Marsh, Ryan Rickelton, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley (c), Dan Lawrence, Matthew Revis, Brydon Carse, Tom Lawes, Matthew Potts, Nathan Ellis, Abrar Ahmed.

Verdict

Sunrisers Leeds are backed to take the win, with Jos Buttler and Mitchell Marsh to keep the runs flowing for their sides. Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse are backed to both pick up two or more wickets in the match.
