Race 2 - ARCTIC ADVANCE (1)
ARCTIC ADVANCE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He raced from a handy position over the mile last time and rallied late to finish second. He has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Interestingly, the blinkers have been removed this afternoon but he is in a good space and can shed his maiden tag.
Race 4 - MASTER SUPREME (4)
MASTER SUPREME has shown incredible guts and determination to win his last four starts in the Eastern Cape. Despite his jockey dropping his crop last time, he fought back well to keep MISS ORANGE at bay. The son of Master Of My Fate stays all day and has a very good chance of keeping his unbeaten record on this course, intact.
Race 6 - TARANTINO (1)
TARANTINO is the best bet on the card. He moved up like a winner in his last start over this distance on the Polytrack but was caught in the shadow of the post. He has finished second three times from as many starts on this course. The 12-week break would have done him the world of good and if not in need of the run, he should be the one to beat.
Race 7 - REGIMENTAL (2)
REGIMENTAL has top consistent form lines to his credit. He won a good race in his last start over this distance on the Polytrack and he was reported to have bled. The son of Captain Al returns from his suspension/break. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and in this type of field, he should keep that record intact.
Race 8 - INTERSTATE (10)
INTERSTATE showed very good signs of a form return in his last start over 1400m on this course. He should have finished closer to the winner that day as he hung in the latter stages. The son of Archipenko takes a drop in class and should be cherry-ripe. He jumps from pole position and can return to winning ways.
Verdict
Tarantino (Race 6) is Magic Tips' best bet of the day at Fairview on Friday.
