Australia would have been concerned coming into this tournament having finished bottom of the 2024 U20 Rugby Championship, but they have again performed reasonably well on the world stage.

Earlier this year, the young Wallabies side lost to Argentina at home, so this is an opportunity to get some revenge. During this tournament, the Aussies defeated Georgia before losing to Italy. Their final game against Ireland was called off because the field was unplayable.

Last week, in the fifth-place semi-final, the Aussies won a cracking game 36-29 against Wales U20.

While giving everyone decent opportunities, Australia will be keen to get this victory. However, I do expect a few changes to their side.

Argentina U20 Form

Argentina U20 have been very good at this World Cup to date, surprising mainly the hosts with their dominant performances.

The Argentines lost their first game comfortably to England but went on to beat South Africa 31-12 and Fiji to finish second in the group. Last week, having to face South Africa again, Argentina again upset the odds, winning 34-24.

Argentina will be looking ot make a few changes, but they have already beaten Australia in 2024. This should be a very good contest regardless of the team sheet put out.
