In the 2024 Currie Cup semi-final, the Sharks beat the Bulls late on in extra time despite spending much of the game a man, sometimes two men down.
Bulls Form
The Bulls will be looking for revenge on a Sharks team that knocked them out of the Currie Cup semi-final last season. That fixture went to extra time where somehow the Sharks came out victorious.
But like last season, the Bulls have started this one in fine form. In round one last weekend, the Bulls went down to Cape Town and thrashed Western Province 48-23.
While the Bulls were shaky on defence on occasion, they dominated the game and more importantly, the set piece. They will be looking for another bonus point win this weekend.

The Bulls will be pleased with their first outing and should select a very similar side to the one that beat Western Province.
Sharks Form
The Sharks are the defending Currie Cup champions after a dramatic run of results to claim the 2024 title. They beat the Bulls in extra time during the semi-final.
However, the Sharks squad in 2025 is looking rather fragile. They have a fair few talented youngsters, but they seriously lack experience.
This showed in last week’s 46-5 loss to the Lions in Johannesburg. The Sharks set piece struggled and from that, the Lions just grew in confidence, outscoring the Sharks comfortably to rack up a bonus point victory.

Expect a fair few changs from last weekend but the Sharks don’t really have much depth and as already mentioned, lack experience.
Verdict
I am backing the Bulls to win big against the Sharks. The hosts are tipped to cover -25.
