Team News
Leinster
Head coach Jacques Nienaber has warned his team of complacency for their upcoming match against Edinburgh: “It’s one moment, or one patch or one moment where you don’t get your s**t right and things can go quickly like that so yeah, that’s it. It can go both ways.”
RG Snyman is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.
Andrew Porter, Jack Boyle, and Paddy McCarthy are out injured, while James Ryan is a doubtful starter.
Edinburgh
Hooker Ewan Ashman has stated that his team needs to make an early impact against Leinster: “You have to go out there and throw the first punch and try to impose yourself on them and throw the kitchen sink at it. That’s what we’re hoping to do.
“Leinster are a great team and playing them at the Aviva, it doesn’t get much bigger in Europe. There’s no doubt it’s a huge game for us. It’s going to be backs-against-the-wall stuff but I’m confident in the boys standing up, having a bit of edge about them and bringing the fight.
“I’m looking forward to it. We need to keep our season alive, it comes down to this and we need to fight for everything.”
Duhan van der Merwe and Magnus Bradbury are unavailable for selection.
Ben Muncaster and D'Arcy Rae could feature against Leinster.
Verdict
Leinster have a perfect winning record against Edinburgh at home and are tipped to cover the -24.5 handicap in their European Rugby Champions Cup match this weekend.
