Stormers Form
The Stormers have made an atrocious start to their 2024/25 Champions Cup campaign, losing both of their opening two games. They began with a 24-14 home defeat to Toulon before being hammered 53-16 at Harlequins.
John Dobson’s side has not been in great form this entire season though as the team seems to lack any sort of plan. This has not been the case for the last three seasons, two of which made the URC final.
That said, the Stormers did bounce back from those two Champions Cup results with two successive derby wins in the URC. First the Stormers beat the Lions 29-10 at home before seeing off the Sharks 24-20 at the Cape Town Stadium.

This is a must-win game for Dobson’s side. Expect a full-strength lineup on Saturday.
Sale Sharks Form
Sale have made a slightly better start to their campaign, winning their home game and losing on the road. The Sharks were well beaten at Glasgow but performed well in their 29-7 home success against Racing 92.
Since then, Sale have played three Rugby Premiership games. They defeated Exeter 28-10 at home and thrashed a weakened Bristol side 38-0 on the road.
Last weekend, Sale, however, came up short at Gloucester, losing the game 36-20. It was a concerning performance given the promise the Sharks had shown in the preceding weeks.

Sale are not expected to be at full strength as most teams send weakened squads on away trips this early in the competition.
Verdict
I am backing the Stormers to cover the -7.5 handicap on home soil as Sale have a horrid away record.
