Ospreys vs Montpellier Predictions

The Ospreys have had a solid EPCR Challenge Cup campaign and tend to perform well at home. Montpellier have yet to lose a match in the competition, but have lacked consistency on the road this season

  • Ospreys have won 4 of their last 6 fixtures in all competitions.
  • Ospreys have won 4 of their last 6 home matches in all competitions.
  • Ospreys beat Montpellier at home in 2023.
  • Montpellier have won 7 of their last 8 fixtures in all competitions.
  • Montpellier have won 2 of their last 5 away matches in all competitions.

Head to Head

The Ospreys and Montpellier have recorded two victories each in four meetings.

Ospreys Form

The Ospreys suffered their first defeat in the EPCR Challenge Cup this season, losing 23-19 to Zebre away from home.

Before that, the Ospreys had defeated Connacht 24-21 at home and Montauban 33-22 away in their opening pool fixtures.

The Ospreys have been in decent nick at home in the URC this season. They defeated Zebre 24-0, lost 42-17 to the Glasgow Warriors and 26-10 to Munster before beating 33-22.

The Ospreys are 2nd in Pool 1 with 11 points from three games.

The Ospreys have the home-ground advantage for their final pool match, and they will have the belief they can secure the result against Montpellier, as their opponents are prone to inconsistent performances on the road.

Montpellier Form

Montpellier staged a second-half comeback against Connacht to win 33-31 at home in the European Challenge Cup match last weekend after trailing 24-14 at the break.

Montpellier defeated Black Lion 24-13 away and Zebre 31-7 at home earlier in the competition.

Montpellier have struggled to win away from home in the Top 14 this season. They lost 26-23 to Bayonne, drew 22-22 with Montauban, lost 32-25 to Racing 92 and 35-12 to Stade Francais, and defeated Perpignan 28-0 before losing 35-33 to Pau.

Montpellier are 1st in Pool 1 with 15 points from three matches.

Montpellier have yet to suffer a defeat in the competition, but will have to play well to beat the Ospreys at home, as their opponents have won four of their last six in their own backyard.
