Leinster are favourites at home against the second-placed Bulls outfit. The visitors have not historically got a good record in Europe, but they have won their last three on the road, however, none of the opposition compare to Leinster.

While I can’t see an upset here, I do feel the Bulls, with the form they are currently in, can get within the 11-point handicap in Ireland.

Head to Head

In April last year the Bulls ran in a 62-7 win at home against Leinster. However, Leinster were severely weakened for that game so not much can be read into it.

Leinster Form

Leinster have won 10 of their 12 URC games thus far this season. They are top of the table; four points clear of the Bulls.

In January, before the Six Nations began, Leinster beat Stade Francais at home and Leicester away in the Champions Cup. Since then, they have played three URC games, winning all three with reasonable comfort.

In mid-February Leinster beat Benetton 47-18 at home and a fortnight later defeated Cardiff 33-20 away. Both of those games were played without the squad members who were in the Irish Six Nations squad.

Last week Leinster were comfortable winners in Italy against Zebre. They won the game 31-7 whilst keeping most of their international stars on ice.

Leinster will almost certainly make a few changes this weekend as they start getting the Six Nations squad members back into action.

Bulls Form

Bulls are second on the table with nine wins and three defeats in their 12 URC games. They are four points off Leinster, and victory here could put them level, or even above their hosts.

The Pretoria-based outfit are in superb form currently with six straight wins in all competitions. Their last defeat came just before Christmas last year when they suffered a six-point loss in Cape Town to the Stormers.

They followed it up with Champions Cup wins over Bristol and Bordeaux before beating the Lions home and away in the URC. The Bulls kicked March off with a superb home performance as they beat the Stormers 40-22.

Last week, Jake White’s side had little trouble in seeing off the Dragons in Wales. They won the game 31-10.

The Bulls are in good form but this is probably the toughest fixture they will have all season. Jake White will want to get the win in Ireland so they should select a very strong side.

I am backing the Bulls in the handicap market with it set at 11 points. While I feel an upset is very unlikely, the Bulls are in strong form so there could be value in that.
