The Lions scored a converted try in the second half, but came away empty-handed, losing 33-20 to Cardiff away from home. 

Before that result, the Lions lost 31-19 to the Bulls, 25-22 to the Sharks, 20-17 to Cardiff, 42-0 to the Glasgow Warriors, and 24-12 to Edinburgh in their last five away games. 

The Lions must improve their away form to get the result in Italy after losing eight consecutive fixtures playing on the road in this competition.

Ruan Venter and W.J. Steenkamp each touched down over the try line against Cardiff.
