New Zealand and Australia resume their fierce Bledisloe Cup rivalry at the Sky Stadium in Wellington on Sunday. An exciting match of rugby is on the cards, with the All Blacks backed to maintain their fantastic record against the Wallabies.

New Zealand Form & News

New Zealand dropped off the top of the world rankings when South Africa lifted the World Cup last year. Their goal now is to get back to the summit.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the All Blacks are yet to play since smashing Wales 40-27 in the Rugby World Cup 3rd/4th play-off in Japan on 19 November 2019. New Zealand were dumped out of the 2019 World Cup by England 19-7 in the semi-finals.

Before going down to England, New Zealand eased through in their group and thumped Ireland 46-14 in the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition.

New Zealand have most of the familiar names back but there are a few debutants that could appear off the bench. Damian McKenzie should start at full-back after missing the Rugby World Cup through injury.

Australia Form & News

Australia could only manage a second-placed finish in their group at the 2019 Rugby World Cup, after going down 29-25 to Wales.

The Wallabies then faltered at the first hurdle of the knockout stage.

England ran out 40-16 victors against Australia in the quarter-finals, which saw head coach Michael Cheika given the boot.

New Zealander Dave Rennie has been tasked with leading the Wallabies going forward.

Australia have a huge 48-man squad with a number of players set to make their debut at some point over the next two weeks. Matt To’omua should retain his place at flyhalf but Noah Lolesio will be breathing down his neck, while Michael Hooper is the only certain starter at flank.

New Zealand vs Australia Head to Head

New Zealand have a 47-17 advantage over Australia in their last 66 meetings, along with two draws.

The last meeting of the sides took place on 17 August 2019, with New Zealand thrashing the Wallabies 36-0 at Eden Park in Auckland.

New Zealand vs Australia Odds

New Zealand are priced at 1.10 to win the match, while Australia are available at 7.50.

The handicap is set at 17 points.

New Zealand vs Australia Match Up

New Zealand and Australia returned to the domestic rugby field before any other country following the various lockdowns around the world. Their players will be sharp and ready to step up to the international level, but the reality is that the All Blacks are going to have far too much for the Wallabies to handle, even with many new faces in their ranks.
