These two often have the measure of each other and produce tight affairs, so my tip is for the Reds to win by 12 or less points. Last week the Reds were superb, beating the Waratahs 41-7 at home. It was the perfect start for the Queensland-based outfit as they picked up all five points.

The Reds ran in five tries during the match with Filipo Daugunu scoring twice. He has continued his fine form which got him an international call-up last season and should be watched in the try scoring markets.

Rugby League import, Suliasi Vunivalu could make his debut for the Reds against the Rebels. If it does happen he will likely come off the bench.

The Rebels 2020 Super Rugby AU campaign went well by all accounts. On paper, they looked a side destined for a top two finish, but third is all they could manage.

It was an impressive campaign in the sense that Victoria was in lockdown for the entirety of the competition. This not only meant that the Rebels didn’t play any home matches, the players and staff were also away from their family for the entire tournament.

This year promises much more from the Rebels. A place in the final will be the goal for the Melbourne side but they will need to topple the Reds or Brumbies, while the Western Force are also much improved.

The Rebels have made some decent signings with Lachlan Anderson, Joe Powell, Jeral Skelton and Jordan Uelese joining the ranks.

A few key departures have also taken place. Andrew Deegan, Tom English and Billy Meeks have left the Rebels.
