Round 8 Odds & Markets
Crusaders vs Fijian Drua
The Crusaders are languishing down in mid-table their opening six matches with three wins and three defeats. As defending champions, the Crusaders will need a far better second half of the season if they want to remain in contention. Drua are not any better off sitting down in ninth place with just two wins from six games.
The early markets have the Crusaders as huge favourites with the handicap set at 24.5 points - paying 1.91 both ways. Drua are priced at 11.00 to get an upset win while the total match points market is set at Over/Under 60.5 points.
Chiefs vs Waratahs
The major concern for the Waratahs is their away results, but they did cause a massive upset last weekend, beating the Brumbies in Canberra. That was their first away victory in almost two seasons. The Chiefs on the other hand have won four of their six matches and sit fifth, a surprise considering they were title favourites just weeks ago.
While the Tahs' were impressive last week, the bookmakers are not giving them much of a chance in Hamilton on Saturday. The handicap is set at 20.5, something we may find value in once teams are selected. The total points market is at 60.5 while an upset win for the Waratahs is paying 8.00.
Reds vs Western Force
The Reds are enjoying a strong season to date with four wins from six matches. They are fourth on the table and could move third should they pick up at least two points in this match. The Western Force are struggling down in 10th spot with one win from six games.
The Reds are favourites at 1.16 to win with the Force priced at 5.00 for the upset. The handicap of 12.5 may be worth looking at for the Reds to cover. Total match points sits at 58.5, paying 1.91 over and under.
