Toulouse are seeking their third consecutive Top 14 title but have failed to beat Bordeaux in three meetings this season, whilst Bordeaux will be out for redemption after losing to Toulouse in last year's final.

Toulouse scored two converted tries and two penalties in the first half against Bayonne in their semi-final clash last weekend, going into the break with a 20-15 lead.

Toulouse added a converted try and four penalties in the second half against Bayonne, winning 32-25 to progress to their third consecutive Top 14 final. 

Before that, Toulouse lost 35-18 to Bordeaux, beat Toulon 50-16, and lost 37-25 to Racing 92 before defeating Lyon 43-3 and Perpignan 42-35 in their last five matches.

Toulouse faced Bordeaux twice during the 2024/25 Top 14 season, losing 16-12 at home and 32-24 away. Additionally, they lost 35-18 to Bordeaux in the Investec Cup semi-finals. 

Toulouse placed first in the Top 14 standings with 90 points from 26 matches during the regular season. 

Defending champions Toulouse are bidding to win a third consecutive Top 14 title, and a fourth in five years, when they take on Bordeaux in the final. However, they have yet to get the better of their opponents in three encounters this season, although they crushed Bordeaux in the final last year.

Thomas Ramos kicked over six penalties and two conversions against Toulon last weekend, taking his tally to 195 points in this edition of the Top 14.

Romain Ntamack dotted down once over the try line in the match.

Paul Graou also scored a try in the semi-final, registering his seventh this campaign.  

Juan Cruz Mallia has scored eight tries in the league this season. 

Bordeaux Form


Bordeaux scored two tries, a conversion, and a penalty in the first half against Toulon in their Top 14 semi-final match last weekend, going into the break with a five-point advantage.

Bordeaux produced an excellent second-half display, scoring three converted tries and a penalty to beat Toulon 39-24 and advance to the final. 

Before that result, Bordeaux lost 46-27 to Montpellier, beat Castres 34-29                  and the Northampton Saints 28-20, and lost 27-10 to Toulon before thrashing Vannes 59-28 in their previous five fixtures.

Bordeaux defeated Toulouse 16-12 away and 32-24 at home in the Top 14 this season, including a 35-18 victory in the European Rugby Champions Cup semi-finals. 

Bordeaux secured second place in the Top 14 standings during the regular season, with 78 points from 26 matches. 

Bordeaux faces a stern challenge, but they come into this final with momentum, having defeated Toulouse three times during their campaign and secured the 2025 Investec Cup.

Matthieu Jalibert slotted four conversions and a penalty against Toulon, taking his tally to 145 points for the season.

Maxime Lamothe scored a hat-trick in the semi-final last weekend.

Nicolas Depoortere was also on the scoresheet, registering his ninth try.

Damian Penaud has scored nine league tries for his club thus far.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey is the leading try scorer in this edition of the Top 14, with 13 tries thus far.

Verdict

Bordeaux are tipped to cover the -1.5 handicap, as they have not lost to Toulouse this season, which gives them the edge needed to win the final and their first Top 14 title.
