Tanzania Women Form

Tanzania succumbed to a narrow defeat in their opening WAFCON fixture, losing 1-0 to Mali on Monday.

Tanzania had opportunities to score in the first half; however, Mali took the lead in the first minute of stoppage time.

Tanzania continued to create chances in the second half, but their finishing let them down.

The Twiga Stars had 55% possession and 15 shots in the match, with five attempts on target.

Tanzania have won three of their last five fixtures, including two losses. They scored nine goals and conceded five.

Tanzania must be more clinical in front of the goals to have a chance of beating South Africa; however, they have yet to achieve that feat in three attempts.
